FieldComm Group today announces the January 1, 2025 availability of an automated testing tool for HART DD files. The new tool, DD-STAT, is a subscription-based offering operating in Microsoft VS Code. Taking a HART DD file as input, DD-STAT automatically executes over 90 test cases (75% of available test cases) and creates a PASS/FAIL report. The developer then provides the report to FieldComm Group as part of the product submission process. To assure adoption across all member classes, members can subscribe to DD-STAT in three separate ways: Basic, Full, or a 10-Seat Bundle. Basic Subscription The DD-STAT Basic subscription is offered at no charge to members with no restrictions on functionality. A maximum of one basic subscription per Primary Member company is allowed. All DDs submitted for registration using this subscription will be subject to a DD testing service fee of $2,000. A Basic subscription can be upgraded to a Full subscription at any time. This offering provides an economical method for companies who are not actively involved in continuous development but want a tool that can simplify their development process when needed. Full Subscription & Bundle The DD-STAT Full subscription and 10-Seat Bundle are priced at $750 at $5,5250 respectively per year again with no restrictions on functionality. There is no ceiling on the number of subscriptions that a member company may have to the DD-STAT Full or 10-Seat Bundle subscriptions. Each DD submitted for registration using these subscriptions will be subject to a DD Testing Service fee of $750. All DD-STAT subscriptions require an active licensed version of the FDI Device Package IDE for the HART Protocol. The tool offers automated test cases designed to assist in identifying prevalent errors in DD files. However, it is important to note that this does not serve as a substitute for the comprehensive DD testing conducted at FieldComm Group. We plan to enhance test coverage in subsequent updates. Please be aware that the test automation tools are developed based on the technical specifications, which will take precedence at all times. |
