FieldComm Group has posted the HART-IP Server Test Specification for member review and comment.
This is a new test specification and lays the foundation for the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) of HART-IP devices. More specifically, the standardized test plans included in it will facilitate the registration of both HART-IP field devices and I/O systems such as gateways and remote I/Os.

The HART Technology Working Group (WG) and the HART-IP Project Group (PG) have been working on the specification improvements since September 2020 and completed it at the February 2020 WG Meeting. Prior to its official release, FieldComm Group members are provided the opportunity to review the test specifications and are being asked to submit comments. The deadline for comment submission is May 7, 2021. The test specification will be released once the comments are resolved and changes finalized.

Overview of the HART-IP Server Test Specification

The HART-IP Server Test Specification focuses on the communication's Network Layer that provides the connection between standard TCP/IP communication services and the HART Application Layer (HART Commands). It includes assessments of the following:

Session establishment and management
Sequence number management
HART-IP Request, Response and Burst/Publishing packets
Message identifier handling
HART message (command) management

Proper operation Token Passing and Direct HART Application Layer packets as well as Audit Logs are assessed. Fuzzing of HART-IP requests is performed to ensure HART-IP communication is robust.

Documents are available for review and comment on FieldComm Group Workspace. Accounts are freely available to member companies.

All document reviews are conducted in the Working Group community on Workspace. By default, all members are added to this community within 24 hours of a new approval. However, if you are not part of this community, you will see a JOIN button. Simply click the JOIN button, complete the form and you will have immediate access. You will need to join this community otherwise the document links will not work.
