FieldComm Group's Successful Show in Germany By Irina Kadukova, FieldComm Group FieldComm Group participated in a face-to-face MEORGA trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany on March 23, 2022. The fair organizers commented that they were happy to make this show a reality amidst the continuing pandemic.   "We have a regular base of exhibitors who have valued our regional trade fair concept for years," said MEORGA's Managing Director Hans-Josef Speicher in an interview with "Process Engineering" and were pleased "that all well-known providers of measurement and control technology can be found among them." The organizers also added that visitors seemed thirsty for live encounters after the lockdowns of the past few years. The show had over 800 visitors. FieldComm Group's Booth and Message FieldComm Group was represented by Bernhard Gut and Kurt Polzer, FieldComm Group - Europe. The main message was to educate users on the value of using FieldComm Group technologies - HART®, FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus, FDI, PA-DIM® and Ethernet-APL. There was a live demonstration of HART Communication using two HART devices from member companies. The visitors who took interest in the demonstration received a HART Signal Detector as a gift for visiting the booth. Bernhard commented that the HART Signal Detector "aroused great interest and was a great giveaway for the visitors." The HART Signal Detector is handheld device that allows its user to "hear the HART signal". HART Communication Protocol is an audible signal in a frequency range within human hearing and with this device users can hear communication over the network. This inexpensive tool can be used to quickly "connect and check" segments during build out. It's available for purchase at the FCG online store: HART Signal Detector. Kurt and Bernhard also educated visitors of the advantages of using FDI, PA-DIM and Ethernet-APL technologies. Many discussions with the visitors were oriented around the role of FieldComm Group and its technologies in the process automation industry and integration of field devices into higher-level maintenance and commissioning systems, with standardized data communication using FDI.
