Preliminary FDT 2.1 Specifications
Member Comments Requested
Deadline: November 18, 2024
FieldComm Group is developing an update to the FDT 2.1 Specifications to add support for IO-Link product DTMs in FDT systems. Please take time to download and review the first release of the “FDT 2.1 Protocol Annex IO-Link". This document is essential for guiding FDT DTM product development based on the IO-Link communication protocol. The review package includes all items required to integrate the IO-Link protocol into Field Device Tool (FDT) specification version 2.1 for product conformance.
SUMMARY
In the past, FDT Group provided specifications to FDT Group members for review prior to publication without ballot. Due to the completion of this specification during the transition period of fully onboarding FDT into FieldComm Group processes, a hybrid process will be supported.
Prior to its official release, members of FieldComm Group are provided the opportunity to review the FDT specification and are being asked to submit comments. The deadline for comment submission is November 18, 2024. No ballot is required, member comments are welcomed.

The draft specification, related documents, and supporting files are supplied only to FieldComm Group members for the sole purpose of internally reviewing and commenting to the FieldComm Group regarding the draft specification. None of the material is to be released in whole or in part to any other parties, organizations, companies or to the public at large without the express written consent of the FieldComm Group.
This draft specification may not be used to create prototypes, products, or demonstration systems as no license to do so is granted by this review procedure. Please contact the FieldComm Group if you wish to participate in prototyping activities.
