Products Shipped to FieldComm Group for Testing

Items shipped to FieldComm Group for test must be returned to the original shipper at their expense.  The return shipping information form (FR10045, included in the Product Registration Kits) allows you to provide your preferred shipping company, your account number to use for the return shipment, and all the necessary fields to record the information about the components to be returned and the person and place where they are supposed to be shipped at the close of your test campaign.  The device and any accessories that are shipped to us for a test campaign must be listed and will be returned to the contact named on the Shipping Information Form.  The contact will be emailed tracking information for their shipment as soon as it is scheduled with the carrier.

Under no circumstances will device samples be kept or stored at FieldComm Group after a test campaign.

All shipments must require a signature for delivery. Obtaining a signature from our office upon delivery is the best way to ensure we receive the hardware.

All duties and taxes are the responsibility of the manufacturer.  All electronic parts and accessories shipped to FieldComm Group from anywhere outside of the United States must be listed on this form with the appropriate customs information for the purposes of duties and taxes associated with imports and exports.  Shipper must note on the original shipping invoice that all duties and taxes are paid by the shipper (manufacturer).  FieldComm Group will note on return shipments that all duties and taxes are to be paid by the receiver (manufacturer).  Manufacturers may request a review of the shipping documents prior to dispatching the package to FieldComm Group.

Items shipped from anywhere outside of the United States must be shipped as a “Temporary Export” to FieldComm Group for the purposes of testing.  This may reduce or even eliminate the duties and taxes associated with the shipment if it is returned shortly after it was shipped.  Please consult with your company’s shipping department for more details and specific country requirements concerning the necessary paperwork and procedures to ship your items as a “Temporary Export”.  Rules and regulations will vary by country, and we cannot provide those details. Information may be obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection here: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/590/~/temporary-imports-for-repair,-alteration,-or-processing-without-duty

Items are returned to the manufacturer via UPS, FedEx, or DHL whenever possible.  If you wish to use a carrier other than FedEx, UPS, or DHL, please schedule a return shipment yourself and provide all the necessary paperwork and labels so that we can hand it off to the driver when they arrive.

It is important that the account number provided is for shipment return to the manufacturer.  Some carriers provide different account numbers for outbound vs. inbound shipments (and likewise, imports vs. exports).

If you wish to return shipments quickly or if you wish to insure the return shipment, please indicate this on the Shipping Information Form, otherwise items are returned in the slowest available method and with NO insurance.

Large items that ship via crate or pallet should be carefully packaged in a way that they can be returned using the same packing materials.  Final Control Elements and other large items shipped for test must weigh less than 150 lbs. DHL will not pick up a shipment at our request for items that weigh more than 150 lbs.  The original shipper is be required to schedule the DHL pickup from our office under those circumstances.

Please save any valuable data prior to shipment, if applicable. In most situations, we repair the hardware and send it back without touching any user data. But from time to time, a repair is not possible or we find some other problem with the system. In such cases, we send a replacement system. We require you to send the power adapter and accessories that were shipped with the original tool (for a list of parts see the product data sheets within Development Products and Tools)

When you return your hardware, please pack it carefully. Ensure that the hardware is enclosed in a bag or pouch to prevent any small, loose shipping materials from getting into the hardware case. Please put enough padding on all sides to ensure that the item is not damaged in shipment and that the shipping box is of sufficient strength to endure the shipment. Please DO NOT use Styrofoam peanuts as packing material.

The package must be marked with the RMA number.
