Please see the Product Registration Policy (PD10026) for Private Labeling and Rebranding of existing registered products.

HART 5 Private Labeling

A HART 5 product with a DD (*.fms) registered prior to March 31, 2011, may be private labeled by exchanging the MANUFACTURER and DEVICE_TYPE codes.  The DD source must be otherwise identical to the previously registered DD.

The HART 5 device and DD must be submitted for testing as a Private Label product.

There is no private_label_code variable for HART 5 devices.

The member who is private labeling must have a 1-byte manufacturer ID code.  Manufacturers who are not yet members of FIeldComm Group cannot obtain a 1-byte manufacturer ID code.  New members are assigned a 2-byte manufacturer ID code. The product must be updated to HART 6 Protocol Version at a minimum, therefore it is no longer a Private Label product and must be submitted as a unique HART device and EDD.
